She Stayed in That Summer of Cicada Song

[Mutual Healing x Love That Grows Over Time x Tragic School Romance]

Sweet, well-behaved top student transfer × Fallen genius, carefree boy

That summer, filled with incessant cicada cries and seemingly without end, a transfer student as sweet as a mint candy named Xu Yuan, carrying her name and her clear, bright smile, accidentally stumbled into the desolate world of Wen Yan, the "fallen genius."

"Hello, my name is Xu Yuan. Xu as in promise, Yuan as in wish."

The seemingly nonchalant boy made exception after exception for her, instinctively stepping in front of her. His lazy voice held a partiality no one else could match:

"Hey, liking someone means protecting them without reason. Got it?"

Afternoon sunlight in the classroom, melodies shared on the rooftop, the scratch of pens across paper... The little moments of everyday life brewed the sweetest bond.

As graduation drew near, she looked at the light rekindled in his eyes and softly offered him a blessing: "May you be like a dandelion, rise with the wind and find peace wherever you land."

He smiled and accepted, thinking they had plenty of time.

But fate abruptly turned the page.

The girl Wen Yan had regarded as his salvation and safe haven, the girl named Xu Yuan who had carried all his hopes, ultimately remained forever in that exceptionally long summer.

She became a wind he could never catch, a promise that was never fulfilled. All that remained was him, carrying the courage she had given him and her blessing about dandelions, learning to fly and land alone in a world without her.

It turned out the greatest act of salvation was her leaving...
