Zhu Yuanzhang founded his dynasty through military force and came from the martial arts sect Mingjiao. After taking the throne, he understood the threat posed by the martial world. He used force to suppress its various sects and seized their secret manuals, but thought it a pity to destroy them. So he hid them deep in the mountains and drew a treasure map called the Ming Map.
After the founding emperor’s death, Jianwen took the throne and hastily began stripping the princes of their power. Prince of Yan Zhu Di raised an army in the name of “cleansing the court of corrupt officials” and rebelled. In the end, his forces stormed the imperial palace, and the Jianwen Emperor vanished. By his command, the Ming Map was entrusted to the commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, who was ordered to hide away with it.
Emperor Chengzu of Ming then established the Eastern Depot once more, placing it directly under the command of eunuchs. They eventually uncovered the Ming Map’s whereabouts, and a bloody storm swept through the martial world as the map set events in motion.
