Deng Tuo uses "Manan Village" as his pen to find interest in historical fragments: he talks about silkworm rearing to examine the ancient economy, and talks about yam eggs to interpret the wisdom of people's livelihood. The short chapters contain encyclopedia-style miscellaneous knowledge, and serious topics are wrapped in Beijing-style humor. This is a "cold knowledge and hot post" that belongs to my father's generation. I still find it interesting and full of wisdom when I read it today.
