Paper Bride in the Empty Village

I receive a bizarre MMS from my ancestral home: a paper bride stands in my childhood bedroom.

Everyone in the village has vanished, leaving behind rooms full of paper figures.

Blood-written alterations mar the family genealogy, and the secret history of a century of human sacrifice comes to light.

The man in black who always appears on rainy nights warns me in a low voice: "Run. Your name is on the list of offerings."

When I finally break open the underground palace beneath the ancestral tomb, I find my own photograph displayed at the center of the altar.

The paper brides whisper in unison: "The hour has come. It's time for you to put on your wedding dress."
