The Lüshi Chunqiu is an important compendium from the late Warring States period of China. It was compiled under the direction of Lü Buwei, chancellor of Qin, shortly before Qin Shi Huang unified China, around 239 BCE. With Daoist thought as its foundation, the work also draws on the teachings of the Confucians, Legalists, Mohists, Yin-Yang school, Militarists, Agronomists, Logicians, and other schools. A representative work of the eclectic school that brings together the intellectual culture of the pre-Qin era, it is hailed as the culmination of the Hundred Schools of Thought.
