When heaven and earth first formed, the Primordial Chaos Pearl split in two, becoming the Spirit Pearl and the Demon Orb, setting in motion a fateful entanglement that would endure for millions of years. The Spirit Pearl was destined to be reborn and help King Wu overthrow King Zhou, while the Demon Orb was prophesied to wreak havoc on the world and be destroyed by a heavenly tribulation. However, Shen Gongbao’s scheme caused the Spirit Pearl and Demon Orb to be switched, and the demon child Nezha was born in Chentang Pass. Born with divine strength, he is nevertheless shunned and struggles with loneliness and prejudice. That changes when he meets Ao Bing, the Dragon Prince who is the reincarnation of the Spirit Pearl. The two souls, both at the mercy of fate, form a deep bond during joyful afternoons playing shuttlecock by the sea. When a scheme is exposed at Nezha’s birthday banquet, Ao Bing is manipulated into trying to flood Chentang Pass. Moved by the bonds of family and friendship, Nezha defies fate and joins Ao Bing to face the heavenly tribulation. Though their bodies perish, their souls endure, beginning a legend that will rewrite their destinies.
After the heavenly tribulation, Taiyi Zhenren uses a seven-colored treasure lotus to rebuild Nezha and Ao Bing’s bodies, but this provokes a revenge plot by Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea, who joins forces with Shen Gongbao and Ao Run, the Dragon King of the West Sea. Nezha sets out to find medicine to save Ao Bing, only to uncover Shen Gongbao’s complicated past and schemes. Their relationship is tested time and again by conflicts of allegiance, but they ultimately stand side by side once more, fighting unjust rules. Their journey takes them from rebellion and redemption to a deeper understanding of themselves, while stunning visual effects elevate the splendor of this mythological world to new heights.
As the story unfolds, the changing power of the Spirit Pearl and Demon Orb resonates with mysterious forces in the universe, triggering a cosmic disaster. Nezha and Ao Bing transmigrate through a rift in space and time, meet allies from diverse civilizations on a cosmic battlefield, and form a guardian alliance. They awaken hidden powers, fuse cosmic elements, and finally defeat the plot
