When the tide of mutations swallowed the old world, the human survivors huddled inside cold steel towers. Lin Jin, a lowly scavenger framed by nobles and exiled to a deadly wilderness, struggles to survive in a wasteland overrun by monsters. On the brink of death, he awakens the one-of-a-kind Trait Forging System: hunt mutated creatures, collect fragments of the laws of nature, and combine them freely for limitless evolution!
[Armor-Piercing] + [Scorching] = [Molten Piercer]? [Silent Step] + [Sprint] = [Shadow Ambush]! He can even grant traits to allies and equipment, or change the rules of the battlefield! While the tower nobles sneer at his “scrap-metal craftsmanship,” Lin Jin's trait-forged dagger is already at their throats.
He gathers the outcasts: Nightingale, a shadow assassin burdened by a blood feud, and Old Tie, a mechanic consumed by cybernetic rage. Together, they establish the “Flame of Dawn,” ready to set the wilderness ablaze. He arms his forces with trait technology and crushes the tower's vaunted psionic legions with [Coordinated Combat] and [Psionic Matrix], then unleashes public access to the technology, igniting a revolution among the lower classes!
But the truth behind the catastrophe is far more brutal than the wasteland. The Tower Council has long since become a puppet of the alien “Reapers,” and the tide of mutated creatures is part of a cold-blooded experiment to select civilizations. As the shadow of the “Abyssal Eye” falls across the land, and trust and betrayal are forged amid the struggle for resources, Lin Jin faces his ultimate choice: look out for himself, or burn through every trait to forge [Immortal Humanity], the last hope that can rekindle human civilization?
This is a tale of rising from scavenging in the wasteland to wielding the rules themselves, an expedition to burn away the darkness of the apocalypse with the fire of traits. Traits are limitless, evolution knows no bounds. The Age of Calamity will be defined by me!
Wei Chong, I love watching it. When I was seriously injured at the beginning, I went to save the beauty as a hero 🥰. Women should be more important than life, and they should be more important than fishing in troubled waters. Alas, when I make a big situation, I won't trick those people to death but go to the hero to save the beauty 🥰🥰🥰
A good book. The story is compact and the storyline is great. Every foreshadowing is interesting. Every paragraph can be pondered over and over again. The book expresses very high-end aspects of human nature, morality, resources, and team spirit. People gather together for the purpose of "living", and the continuation of the writing is based on the way "living" becomes "saving" 🤔
