The remaining interstellar federation signed a fragile peace agreement with its former enemy, the Zelar Empire. However, there are turbulent undercurrents beneath the surface of peace. Ling Yun, a young commander who lost his relatives in the Apocalypse War but became an ace pilot of the Federation with his outstanding talent, was ordered to lead the experimental assault ship "Dawn" to the "Forgotten Star Territory" to perform a seemingly ordinary patrol and scientific research mission. This star field was once the territory of an ancient super-civilization, but now only ruins and deadly cosmic radiation remain.
As the "Dawn" penetrates deep into the star field, a mysterious distress signal leads them to a dead planet that has never been recorded. There, they encountered the "Star Eater", a terrifying creature they had never seen before - an alien existence that can swallow energy, distort space, and even corrode technological creations. What's even more frightening is that there are various signs indicating the origin of the war between these "Star Eaters" and Apocalypse, as well as the long-lost ancient super civilization.
The "Dawn" suffered heavy damage during its first contact with the Star Eater. Communications were interrupted, its engine was half destroyed, and it was completely lost in the Forgotten Star Territory. Ling Yun and her crew not only have to face the relentless pursuit of the Star Eater, but they also have to repair the ship in an isolated and desperate situation, solve the mysteries left by the ancient civilization, and try to bring warnings about the new threat back to the Federation.
