Zheng Min (? - 710) Tang poet. The courtesy name is Wenjing, a native of Cang County (belonging to Cangzhou), Hebei Province. He died in the first year of Jingyun, Emperor Ruizong of Tang Dynasty. He was promoted to Jinshi at the age of seventeen. During the reign of Empress Wu, Zhang Yi's brother recommended him as a censor in the palace. After Zhang Yi stepped down, he was demoted to the position of chief minister of Xuanzhou. During the reign of Emperor Zhongzong of the Tang Dynasty, he served as a member of Zhongshushe and Taichang Shaoqing. Together with Cui Riyong, Ran Zuyu and other officials, he attached himself to Wu Sansi, and was known as "Cui, Ran, Zheng, Dictionary of Current Affairs." In the early Tang Dynasty, "Sang Tiao Song" was popular, and its lyrics included the sentence "Sang Tiao Wei Ye"; after the Ming Wei Dynasty, they tried to usurp the throne and used "Sang Tiao Song" as proof of their "acceptance". In order to cater to the wishes of Empress Wei, he composed ten poems of "Sang Tiao Yue Ci" and was promoted to Minister of History. In February of the third year of Jinglong (709), he was promoted to prime minister; in June, he was demoted to Jiangzhou Sima for corruption. The following year, Li Chongfu, the king of Sejieqiao, conspired to rebel and promoted Chongfu as emperor. He was so shocked that he appointed himself prime minister and was soon defeated and executed.
