A University of Hong Kong master’s graduate comes home with a million, throwing the old Xiguan house into chaos!
Kang Qiyuan, the fifth son who seemingly appeared out of nowhere in the Kang family, returns home in style with an LV suitcase after earning a master’s degree in finance from the University of Hong Kong. His claim that he “made a million trading stocks” immediately sets off a storm of greed and suspicion in the old Xiguan house!
A birthday banquet turns into a trap: The awkwardness of the subpar cake has barely passed when Kang Bo’s authority as a father is brazenly challenged by his son’s decision to study abroad without asking permission. The echo of that million-yuan announcement is still ringing when a notice arrives that a Hong Kong bank account has been frozen, pouring cold water over everything. The money is real, and so is the trouble! Relations between Kang Qiyuan and his father plummet to freezing point.
Secrets beneath the ice: In public, Kang Qiyuan is an elite top student. In private, he is more like a lone wolf, living by himself on the second floor with his door locked tight. What secrets are reflected on his computer screen: the key to a fortune, or an unspeakable crisis? Is his insistence that he will “buy a house” backed by real money, or is it a smokescreen to hide the truth?
The “matchmaking ace” hits a wall: Second sister-in-law Su Miaochan’s shrewd plans are clicking away at full speed. A million unfrozen? Her goal instantly shifts from “getting a share” to “putting the resources to good use”! Find this “golden bachelor” a wealthy young woman from a “premium family,” and she might not only resolve the family conflict, but even save her own struggling hardware store! A hilarious, chaotic chain of matchmaking disasters is launched without Kang Qiyuan having the slightest idea...
When a traditional Xiguan mansion collides with the mindset of Hong Kong’s elite,
when family warmth runs up against self-interest and generational divides,
when an aloof top student is dragged into the matchmaking blunders of an overzealous go-between,
the Kang family, a big household of outsiders and locals, is about to face unprecedented turmoil and laughter!
Marriage by agreement is a big poison
It's a heartwarming family comedy (although there are indeed many places on TV that are illogical), but it is written in a dark and conspiratorial style. It is depressing to watch, and I don't know what I want to express 🤦
The style is completely opposite to the plot itself
