Song Zhiwen (about 656 - about 712), whose courtesy name was Yanqing and whose given name was Shaolian, was a Han nationality from Fenzhou (now Fenyang City, Shanxi Province). He was a poet in the early Tang Dynasty. He and Shen Quanqi were also called "Shen Song". In the second year of Shangyuan (675), Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty, he passed the imperial examination. Wu Zetian was the one who held the real power at that time. Song Zhiwen, who was rich in talent and learning, was deeply appreciated and was called to the Literature Hall. Soon he was awarded Luozhou to join the army. In the first year of Yonglong (681), he entered the Chongwen Hall as a bachelor together with Yang Jiong. Together with Chen Ziang, Lu Zangyong, Sima Chengzhen, Wang Shi, Bi Gou, Li Bai, Meng Haoran, Wang Wei and He Zhizhang, they are called the Ten Friends of the Immortal Sect.
