Liu Xiyi (ca. 651-Ca. 680), Poet of the Tang Dynasty. His name was Tingzhi, his courtesy name was Yanzhi (his first name was Tingzhi), Han nationality, from Ruzhou (now Ruzhou City, Henan Province). In the second year of Emperor Gaozong's reign, he became a Jinshi and was good at playing the pipa. His poems are famous for their song lines, mostly about love affairs, their words are soft and gorgeous, and they are often sentimental. The original biography of "Old Book of Tang Dynasty" states that "it is a poem about the love of a girl who served in the army. The lyrics are sad and bitter, which is the emphasis of the times. If one does not cultivate his ambitions and deeds, he will be killed by traitors." Volume 8 of "New Accounts of the Tang Dynasty" states that "The Collection of Zhengsheng written by Later Sun Yi contains the most concentrated collection of Xiyi". There are 1 volume of poems in "Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty" and 7 supplementary poems in "Complete Collection of Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty" and "Continuation of the Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty".
