[No cultivation + 1v1 romance + powerful hero, even more powerful heroine + both devoted only to each other + no saintly heroine + a touch of ensemble cast]
(An old-school fantasy inspired by Chinese mythology, set in the dawn of the primordial world. Shangguan Linyue, Di Ling, and Shangguan Ling are all names of the heroine at different points in her life.)
She is Shangguan Ling, ruler of heaven and earth, and once the daughter of the Heavenly Emperor. To protect all under heaven, she created countless worlds and forcibly split her primordial spirit, sending its fragments into each one.
He is Si Yuchen, a divine lord of the Celestial Clan. A thousand years ago, to protect her from a conspiracy, he willingly descended into the mortal world.
When they meet again, he is a crippled prince of Great Xia, while she is a noblewoman who has lost all seven emotions and six desires.
They become contract spouses through an alliance, but as they spend time together, their feelings gradually deepen.
Then, because of a conspiracy, she dies in the year he loves her most.
When they meet again, she has returned to the immortal realm and forgotten everything between them.
He follows close behind, cultivating all over again in a mortal body.
When his friend asks why he refuses to reclaim his divine rank and instead chooses to cultivate again as a mortal, he says only, “If that was my past life, then it wasn’t me. No matter what happened in my previous life, I only want to love her in this one.”
The Dark Clan rises, monsters and demons run rampant, and one conspiracy follows another. Will she choose to love all living beings, or one person...?
“Yue’er, I protected you a thousand years ago, and I can protect you again.”
“A Chen, I’m sorry. For the sake of all living beings, I had no choice...”
PS: Since the heroine has no emotions or desires at first, her personality changes in response to the people and circumstances around her. This is a story of growth. She is neither saintly nor a fake innocent.
Everyone speaks up, and misunderstandings get cleared up.
There are plenty of clues and planted mysteries, all of which will be resolved later.
