I Transmigrated to the War of Resistance as an Army Doctor

A shrill alarm ripped through the night sky. Shen Qin jolted awake, then stared speechless at the sight before her.

Three hours earlier, she had been an attending physician in the emergency department at Shanghai Renji Hospital. After working thirty-six hours straight, she had collapsed in the break room. Now she was lying in a muddy field. Artillery thundered in the distance, and the sky had turned a strange orange-red.

“Hey! There’s a female student over there!” a gruff male voice called out.

Shen Qin struggled to sit up and saw several men in mustard-yellow military uniforms running toward her. She had seen that uniform in historical documentaries. The National Revolutionary Army? The Nationalist forces during the War of Resistance?

“Miss, what are you doing here by yourself?” The middle-aged soldier leading them crouched down, concern etched across his dark face. “Shanghai has fallen. The Japanese are rounding people up everywhere.”

Shen Qin opened her mouth, but her throat was dry as dust. She looked down at herself. She was still wearing her white coat, and her hospital ID badge was still pinned to her chest. This was absurd. She had to be dreaming.
