She had grown up in a remote mountain village. The year she was accepted into university, her mother's illness took a turn for the worse. She had no choice but to give up her chance to attend and raise money for her mother's medical bills. She was already juggling several jobs a day when, by chance, Ji Yunfeng, the Ji family's adopted son, offered to save her mother's life in exchange for her pretending to be Ji Yunwan, the Ji family's daughter who had been missing for years. Thus Ye Ouyu was drawn into the conspiracy.
What seemed like a chance encounter to her had been carefully planned all along, as far as Ji Yunfeng was concerned.
Without Li Ye, she might have died much sooner. But even after meeting him, she couldn't escape death. At least before she died, he gave her a reason to keep living.
Isn't that how people are? We all need something to hope for to keep going.
