In an old Shanghai lane, unemployed chef Xu You turns his ancestral home into a “women’s shared kitchen” to pay off his debts. A mistakenly worded rental ad brings five women of very different backgrounds to his door: a laid-off finance director, a streamer drowning in online loans, a housewife fleeing domestic abuse, and others. Through six women supporting one another and growing together in the shared kitchen, the story portrays a portrait of modern urban women’s lives and offers an honest mirror of everyday life.
