Reborn in the 1980s as a Fierce Woman, Now My Ungrateful Descendants Beg Me to Let Them Go

[Reborn] [Period] [No golden finger] [Putting scoundrels in their place] [Getting rich] [Family and neighborhood drama] [Light ensemble cast]

The hardworking and honest Zhang Xiulan and her husband devoted their entire lives to their sons, working like oxen and horses, only to be cruelly abandoned when they grew old and sick.

As she lay dying, her sons and daughters-in-law couldn’t care less whether she lived or died. All they wanted was to wring the old woman’s last bit of property out of her.

After years of hardship and sacrifice, she couldn’t even get a bite of watermelon before she died.

Filled with rage and regret, Old Lady Zhang breathed her last.

But Heaven couldn’t bear to see her leave the world in such misery, and gave her a chance to be reborn.

Reborn, she no longer believes that raising sons guarantees security in old age. Rather than pour everything she has into raising children, she’ll take care of herself. Rather than make others happy, she’ll enjoy her own life.

Her children get too big for their boots and try to live off her? This old lady’s slaps aren’t for show. You’re all going to learn how to behave again.

If a village bully or shrew wants to pick on me, they’d better be ready to pay for it. Being a good person brings no reward, so I won’t follow the rules. Then no one can use morality to hold me hostage.

Old Lady Zhang has finally seen the light. In the 1980s, opportunity is everywhere, and fifty is the perfect age to start fighting for a better life. Rather than stay cooped up with household trifles and unfilial descendants, she’ll broaden her horizons and take a chance, building a happy retirement for herself and her husband.
