Records of Strange Cases

During the Yuanyou era of the Northern Song, Shen Yan is an undercover agent for the Kaifeng judicial inspectorate. On the surface, he’s a dissolute playboy, but in reality he wields the “Strange Case Files System” to solve a string of bizarre cases, including the “Bloodstained Academy Mystery,” the “Poisoned Wine of the Ghost Market,” and the “Infant Spirit in the Dry Well.” The System’s evidence prompts are often vague or misleading, forcing him to painstakingly untangle the clues and work backward to the truth using his investigative skills. He maneuvers among various factions and exposes the conspiracy of the “Tianjizi” organization to control both the martial world and the imperial court. Along the way, he becomes entangled in love and hatred with a mysterious female spy, a court chess master, a general’s wife, and other women. In the end, he breaks the deadlock through sheer martial power and becomes the next legend of the martial world.

The book is primarily set in its own world. Any similarities are purely coincidental. The story focuses on solving cases through clues, so please read with care.
