Hu Tao lay sprawled across the sofa and called out in a drawn-out voice, “Fufu! I'm hungry.”
Clattering came from the kitchen. A moment later, Furina rushed out carrying a plate, her apron covered in flour.
On the plate was a blackened lump of something.
“...Is this a fried egg?” Hu Tao fell silent for three seconds.
Furina blinked and said guiltily, “It's black on the outside, but it should... still be white inside, right?”
Hu Tao looked at Furina's flour-smudged face and those eyes, so eager for praise.
She suddenly smiled.
She reached out, wrapped an arm around Furina's waist, and pulled hard.
They tumbled onto the sofa together.
Furina landed on top of her and blinked in bewilderment.
“Hu Tao?”
Hu Tao looked up at her. “I'm hungry. I want to eat... you.”
Furina's face turned bright red in an instant.
“...Then eat me.”
Hu Tao smiled.
She lifted her head and kissed her.
Sunlight fell over them, blending their intertwined shadows together.
For a long, long time.
Hu Tao curled up in Furina's arms, her face buried in the crook of Furina's neck. Her voice muffled, she said, “You're not allowed to cook anymore.”
Furina protested, “But I spent all morning learning...”
