Huang Zongji of Liang Village was known from childhood for his filial piety, which moved Heaven and Earth. Though he was poor as a boy, his mother taught him well, and he never took advantage of others for petty gain. Later, he happened upon silver from the Underworld Bureau but did not keep it for himself. He was devoted to charity and died peacefully of natural causes.
