My Cultivation Is a Little Unorthodox

The Spirit Disk Continent

Long ago, two powerful beings fought, and their battle split the continent into seven regions of different sizes, along with numerous smaller fragments. The regions are separated by spatial turbulence and the Heavenly Chasm Sea.

Among the seven regions, the Divine Continent is the strongest. The Starfall Pavilion bears the crucial responsibility of balancing the various factions and maintaining stability. Next come the Eastern Flame, Northern Darkness, Southern Frontier, Western Wilderness, Heavenly Domain, and Nether Prison. Some of the smaller fragments are occupied by reclusive families or cultivation sects.

Children begin their education at six, when they receive basic body-tempering techniques and basic arts to awaken their spiritual energy. At seven, they can begin cultivating if they successfully awaken their Spirit Disk. Those who fail can try again a year later, with nine attempts in total. If they have not succeeded by the age of sixteen, they can no longer awaken their Spirit Disk and lose the right to cultivate. Prominent families can use various resources to train their younger generations, giving them a head start, while ordinary people must work hard to join a faction and gain access to resources.

Our story begins on the Southern Frontier Continent. Those who awaken their Spirit Disk can choose to cultivate as spellcasters. Spellcasters advance through nine levels: Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Deity Transformation, Dao Integration, Tribulation Transcendence, Great Ascension, and True Immortal. There is also a star-meridian cultivation system, but no records of it exist.

Qin Jun is the eldest son of the Qin family. At fifteen, he has failed to awaken his Spirit Disk eight times.

His father, Qin Yan, is at the Ironbone Spirit Disk Realm. His mother, Zhao Mei, is at the Foundation Establishment Spirit Disk Realm. They have ordinary talents and earn enough to get by by transporting supplies for a sect as laborers.

He also has two younger sisters. Qin Dan is ten; she awakened her Spirit Disk at nine and entered the Qi Condensation Realm.

Qin Sha is six and has just begun her education.
