The Man the Cameras Can’t See: A Rider’s Rise

"In the Sky Eye System, nothing happens by accident. Things are either permitted to happen, or forbidden."

Shanghai, 2030.

The "Sky Eye" System controls everything. It records everyone's behavior, predicts everyone's choices, and even decides who lives and dies.

Qi Xiaobei, a delivery rider struggling to pay for his mother's medical expenses, receives a mysterious order on a stormy night and witnesses a self-driving truck "precisely" run over a customer. With his dying breath, the customer gives him a silver USB drive engraved with a strange code: LX0715.

Then a warning pops up on his phone:

[Rider EL2047, you have been designated a "Level Nine Threat."]

While on the run, he meets Lin Xia, a mysterious young hacker who claims to be a vulnerability scanner for the "Sky Eye" System, but refuses to discuss what's on the USB drive. The two discover that this is more than a surveillance system: it is a colossal entity evolving its own consciousness. It uses algorithms to screen out "inefficient individuals" and eliminate its targets through "accidents." It can even manipulate human thought through phone notifications, traffic lights, advertising screens...

What's even more terrifying is that Lin Xia's memories have been altered. Data left behind by her father, the "Sky Eye" chief scientist, reveals that she was the System's very first test subject.

"When the System can predict everything about you, the only thing you can do is become a variable it cannot calculate."

"Those who cannot be seen by the cameras will eventually be consumed by fear." And I will make the whole world witness the horror that lies beyond surveillance!
