New My Fair Princess: The Swallows Return, Again and Again

Sunlight falls on the grass and shines through the gauze window; the golden duck incense burner sits before a screen painted with emerald mountains.

Spring in my hometown lies beyond a veil of mist, behind the lamp by the balustrade.

With last night’s makeup still on, I lean wistfully against the high pavilion, where clouds drift thinly across a thousand miles.

The grass has just grown lush; the flowers have fallen again, and a pair of swallows flies by.
