Twelve years ago, six-year-old Su Yuezheng was bullied by a group of children at the Songlin Street Orphanage, and the rag doll in her hand was broken. The engine roared, and Huo Linyuan and Huo Zhenting stepped in surrounded by bodyguards.
Huo Linyuan heard the cry and looked for it. When he saw it, he shouted angrily: "Stop!" The children dispersed. He helped Su Yue up and gently wiped the dust from her face with gentle but firm eyes.
Huo Linyuan (turning to the dean, his tone unquestionable): I want to adopt her.
Dean (embarrassed, looking at Huo Zhenting): Mr. Huo nodded.
Huo Zhenting (his face darkened and he flatly refused): How can the Huo family adopt a child?
Huo Linyuan (looking directly at Huo Zhenting, eyes determined): Dad, I have made up my mind. If you agree, I will give up ten points of the group's profit next year.
Huo Zhenting (thinking briefly, then nodding): That's all, it's up to you.
Huo Linyuan (holding Su Yue's hand and smiling gently): From now on, you call me Huo Mianmian and come home with me.
Twelve years later, eighteen-year-old Huo Mianmian was taken back by Huo Linyuan for violating family rules. Huo Zhenting came after hearing the news.
Huo Zhenting (with a sullen face, pointing at Huo Mianmian): Mianmian, how dare you go to the bar, how outrageous!
Huo Mianmian (lowering her head and sobbing): Grandpa, I was wrong.
Huo Linyuan (with a stern look on his face): Mianmian, you can't violate family rules. You should be punished.
Huo Mianmian (with tears in her eyes, tugging at the corner of Huo Linyuan's clothes): Third uncle, I know I was wrong, don't punish me...
Huo Linyuan (though distressed, still tough): There are no exceptions to family rules.
