Tales of Muchan

Also known as: “What If You Were Wukong's Dad,” “A Century-Old Tree Spirit's First Time Raising a Child,” “I'm a Tree, But I Don't Know If I'm His Father or Mother,” and “What a Rotten World, Give Me Back My Adorable Son!” [Alternate setting + protagonist has no love interest + supporting characters' romances are a wild mix] The entire story is adapted from a real dream the author had. I'm a tree. I've watched the sea from a cliff for a hundred years. At some point, I gained consciousness, first knowledge, then thought. One day, a wandering monk stroked my trunk and sighed: “Since you have human understanding, why not experience the world?” Then I was struck by lightning... After finally coming down the mountain and learning how to speak and live like a person, some heartless scoundrel left a baby at my doorstep. When I picked him up, he bit through my wrist. Tree sap mixed with blood and trickled down his throat. I said: “From now on, I'll call you Wukong. I am your... father.” I, a tree, had a child. When he was little, he was soft and adorable. When he grew up... Can someone tell me whose child this gloomy, possessive guy is? Can I return him? [Author's note] • All inspiration came from an unusually vivid dream the author had. Fragments of memory have been adapted into a work of fiction. • The worldbuilding has no connection to any existing work. Any sense of familiarity is purely coincidental. • No female lead, not a power fantasy, and not a System story. This is simply an account of a wooden lifeform observing the human world. Pure sweetness, no angst.
