The world has fallen into a "time fold" disaster, and mankind is trapped in an infinitely repeating 24 hours. The government launched the "Paradise Project" to put survivors into the virtual city "New Eden" and obtain "time crystals" by completing weird tasks issued by NPCs. Those who collect 999 crystals will gain the authority to restart the world - but no one tells the players that the system itself is a lie.
