At the beginning of the world, all was chaos. Pangu slept for ten thousand years before awakening. Seeing that heaven and earth were undivided, he split them apart and created all living things, including humanity.
Human intelligence far surpassed that of other creatures, and technology advanced at a remarkable pace. In just a few years, humanity had devised a calendar. In 156 AD, they even invented anti-gravity technology. That same year, they accidentally discovered the other side of the world, a place inhabited by terrifying monsters and concealing immense power.
For the next several centuries, humanity tried every means at its disposal to harness this power and destroy the monsters, but all its efforts came to nothing. In search of a breakthrough, people turned their attention to the gods of legend. Pangu, who separated heaven and earth; Nuwa, who created humanity; and Shennong, the first mortal to receive divine power, all became the focus of their pursuit.
By then, human technology could control high-speed spacecraft, yet some were never content with the peace and stability of the present. They remained obsessed with that unknown power.
Ling Hui, meanwhile, was just an unemployed ordinary man. His intelligence was beyond that of most people, but it fluctuated wildly, making him seem almost insane. Those around him called him "Crazy Ling."
