The Master Appraiser: From Flea Market Finds to the Pinnacle of Antiques

Other people appraise treasures through study, experience, and connections. Chen Mo appraises treasures by “watching a movie.”

The instant he encounters an antique, images flash before his eyes: Emperor Qianlong proudly turning a jade thumb ring in his hand, an old artisan’s bloody fingerprints left while restoring a bronze vessel, even surveillance footage from an overseas auction ten years ago showing this Buddha statue being smuggled out of the country!

The “broken bowl” he picks up at a street stall turns out to be a Ru ware celadon lost overseas for a century. When an “old scroll” experts have declared a fake is unfurled, half of a secret seal from the Qingfu Pavilion tumbles out. It’s the legendary token of a top secret society that controls the antiques world.

Treasure hunting, face-slapping, solving mysteries, tracing origins: these eyes that can see the memories of antiques will help him rise from the gutter and turn the entire antiques world upside down!
