The Xu family threw an embroidery ball to choose a son-in-law, Xu Huiqing threw an hydrangea ball to Chen Xiuyuan to seal his marriage, and Xu Huiqing threw it to a beggar to escape from the marriage. After many hardships, he killed Xu Huiqing out of jealousy. Xu Huiqing rushed to throw away Chen Xiuyuan and made Xu Huiqing throw the hydrangea to the beggar (the emperor). Xu Huiqing did not want to make the same mistake again. After marrying the emperor, she was loved, but Xu Huiqing made mischief and was eventually exiled. In the end, the beggar emperor Chen Xiuyuan became the founding emperor of Chen State, opening up territory and opening up the prosperous Chang'an for Chen State.
