The Legend of Zanghai: Where Mountains End and Rivers Flow

During the Zhenshun era, the emperor of Dayong had no sons and had yet to name an heir. The great clans ran rampant, and the court and country grew increasingly turbulent.

To placate the great clans, the emperor intended to marry off a daughter of the imperial family. The task naturally fell to Zhu Jingzhi, daughter of the Prince of Yongrong and Princess Pingning.

Unwilling to comply, Zhu Jingzhi simply left the capital.

But she knew all too well that everything under heaven belonged to the emperor. There were some things you could not solve simply by running away.

Of the fifty-nine ways of fate, one always escapes its design. By chance, she believed she had found that variable.

Zang Hai: Your Highness, I am willing to help with what you seek to do.

Xiang Antu: I’m not helping the Princess of Dayong. I’m helping you.

Zhuang Zhixing: Only fools live long. But if it’s for your sake, what’s wrong with being clever for once?

Zhu Jingzhi: If the throne has passed down through the same bloodline, then if others can sit upon it, so can I!
