The Star's Gift: Synopsis
In Federal Year 372, on an abandoned mining planet in Orion's Arm, Lin Chen awakens from a hibernation pod. With nothing but his bare hands, he crushes the rampaging Zerg hive and tears open a secret hidden in the depths of the universe for three hundred years.
He is the last ember of the Starpath Guardians, the lone hero of the final battle. Though he possesses max-level power capable of rewriting the laws of the starpaths with a casual gesture, he chooses to sleep in human form, until Su Mu, a young woman carrying the Starpath Key gene, shatters his peace.
The Starwaste Virus devours star systems, the Observer civilization lays a thousand-year game, and the remnant soul of the Void Devourer whispers in the Abyss of Silence. As the Federation fleet suffers defeat after defeat in the face of interstellar disasters, this “misfit” in work clothes takes the hand of a young military academy student and walks from the ruins of the mining planet toward the edge of the universe.
He once took energy for his body and shattered the darkness covering half a star system. Now, in a body of flesh and blood, he teaches her how to use fragments of stellar cores to kindle the spark of civilization.
“Max level isn’t the finish line. It’s the right to protect.”
When the heartbeat of the hive’s program echoes from deep beneath Blue Star, and humanity’s genetic code faces the fate of being rewritten, Lin Chen and Su Mu stand where the starpaths converge. Behind them are three billion souls awaiting a choice; before them lies an ultimate conspiracy spanning entire eras.
This is a struggle over “existence.” The loneliness and redemption of the strong, the submission and resistance of civilizations, all lie hidden in that golden light deep within the Starwaste. And what they must do is not only save the world, but ensure that every living being can look up and say:
“Our paths are ours to write.”
