The ancient goddess Nuwa used yellow earth and water to create humankind. As she created humanity, she also brought forth people with special abilities, and appointed the Five Divine Beasts to protect the planet. But when the ancient evil beast Qiongqi awoke, humanity was plunged into crisis. Nuwa therefore created another planet where humans and beasts could coexist. While sealing Qiongqi, Nuwa learned that this other planet needed a guardian. She appointed the holy angel Gabriel to watch over it, making her the Goddess of Fate, Norns. Nuwa also sent the phoenix, one of the divine beasts, to protect the Goddess of Fate until someone arrived.
