After finding an injured merman by the rocks, Ruan Zhiyuan only wanted to save him and then set him free.
Instead, the guy grew legs and refused to leave, even insisting on auditioning for a spot in the entertainment industry.
In public, he was a famously aloof top-tier star, worshipped by fans across the internet and sparing only a few words in interviews.
In private, he was clingy and jealous. When he was sleepy, he wanted her to soothe him with gentle strokes, and whenever he was away from water, he was chilled to the bone.
The sea called him home to rule, but he insisted on staying among humans to watch over an ordinary animal caretaker.
On the night of the finale, with millions watching, the star stepped down from the award podium and placed his trophy in her hands in front of everyone.
She had social anxiety and wanted to run away on the spot, but an even greater crisis was quietly closing in...
The merfolk had found him.
