Searching for Traces in the Abyss of the Heart

In a private psychology clinic tucked into a corner of the city, Dr. Ye Zhizhou and his assistant, Chen Nian, begin a quiet story of their own. Their encounters unfold over tea in the consultation room, and their minds meet in the notes they write on case files. Mutual understanding gradually grows into affection, then love blossoms in the warm light of late-night overtime. But personal ambitions bring them to a painful breakup, and love turns to hate. They have plenty of friends around them, and time weaves the daily lives of Li Shiyao and Ye Zhizhou into a romantic tapestry, tracing their moving journey from kindred spirits to soulmates. As the years pass, Dr. Ye is torn between a new love and an old one. In the end, he comes to understand himself and find his direction in life.
