In ancient times, a gigantic demon egg descended upon the Central Plains. A demon beast lay within it, and though it had yet to hatch, its arrival brought devastation to all living things. The people of that age struggled to survive the disasters caused by the egg. Later, the Goddess of the Ninth Heaven descended and sealed it away. Though the egg was sealed, the demon beast within used its power to transform itself into eight Demon Beast Kings, scattering them across the Central Plains. The eight beasts appeared one by one throughout the dynasties, and each was eventually sealed by the wielder of a mystic weapon in the mortal realm.
Mystic weapons were unlike ordinary weapons. Forged from the stones used by Nuwa to mend the heavens, they wielded extraordinary power. By the Yuan and Ming dynasties, battles between the wielders of mystic weapons in the martial world had grown much larger in scale, and the bloodshed had become even more brutal. Before long, the Jiajing era arrived.
