On a summer afternoon, cicadas chirped one after another. Doraemon urged impatiently, “Come on, Nobita! You're wasting all the time you have for painting!” Nobita fumbled with his paintbrushes and paints, replying without looking up, “Wait, Doraemon! I'm not ready yet!”
Just then, Nobita suddenly raised his voice and shouted to his father, who was napping nearby, “Dad! Don't move around!” His father woke with a start and mumbled, “Oh, sorry.” Nobita sighed helplessly. “Honestly, you keep moving around, and I can't paint properly!” Doraemon teased him, “Even if your dad sat still, you'd still have a hard time painting well with your skills.” His father said slowly, “Actually, Nobita, you don't have to make your painting especially good...” Nobita cut him off, his voice full of worry. “If I don't paint well, everyone will laugh at me!” His father was about to continue advising him. “Listen, Nobita, the most important thing in painting isn't technique...” Before he could finish, a soft snore sounded. He had fallen asleep again. Nobita grumbled, “What? You fell asleep at the worst possible moment!” Doraemon explained, “Your dad worked late last night. Let him get some sleep.” Nobita threw down his paintbrush. “Ugh, I don't want to paint anymore! It's too much trouble!” Doraemon scolded him in exasperation. “You give up way too quickly! We went to so many art exhibitions together. Please start reading from Chapter 27. Chapters 27–36 are the complete movie version.”
