Xu Wenqi has lived with the couple Zheng Kun and his wife, known as the Iron-Gall Silver Dart, ever since he was old enough to understand things. He doesn't know who his parents are, and the couple have never told him. Then one day, their daughter Xiaoping tells him that her father intends to kill him, while her mother, the Immortal Hibiscus Wu Caiyun, urges him to flee. So Xu Wenqi leaves, setting off on a series of extraordinary adventures. During his journey, he accidentally acquires the martial world's treasured Thousand Buddha Hand gloves and is hunted by martial arts experts. Fortunately, he escapes with help from two of the Eight Wonders of the Martial World: the God of Poverty, “Wealth Can't Beat Poverty,” and the Two-Foot Gentleman, “Tall Can't Beat Short.” By chance, he learns from Pang Yuan that the gloves hold the secret to the “Eighteen Forms of the Thousand Buddha Palm Shadow.” He also hears that his parents are still alive. He sets out to find a way to master the Eighteen Forms and rescue them. And so the story begins.
