[Not reborn or transmigrated + three-and-a-half-year-old toddler + adorable child + light supernatural ensemble cast + a child’s innocence solves the mysteries]
[This is not a mindless wish-fulfillment novel. It leans toward a warm ensemble story, with some mystery and subtle threads reflecting real life. The pacing unfolds gradually, so please bear that in mind before reading.]
Three-and-a-half-year-old Taotao was born able to see ghosts. In the world of mysticism, she was known as the “Ghost-Suppressing Cutie.”
When other people saw ghosts, they ran for their lives. Adults wouldn’t let her go near them, saying, “You’re too little. Don’t make trouble.”
Then, in the very next moment, Taotao gave an evil ghost a gentle smack and turned it into a fragrant “ghost cookie.”
Everyone recoiled in terror, but she blinked and licked her lips, then asked in her soft, sweet voice:
“Is there more? Taotao’s still hungry…”
But Taotao’s parents were gone, and after her second uncle brought her to the Shen family,
the gears of fate began to turn quietly.
She began meeting all sorts of strange yet warm-hearted people:
her eldest uncle, who couldn’t see but knew countless secrets;
her red-haired second uncle, known throughout the underworld as a master fortune-teller;
her third uncle, a spirit who often whispered to her;
and Xiao Hei, a Ghost King they took in who could only babble unintelligibly…
She also began encountering supernatural incidents that adults never spoke about openly:
spirit cats roaming at night, children losing their souls, secret beast-taming arts, and soul-transference refining altars…
Behind every mystery lay a choice of the human heart.
Taotao clenched her little fists and vowed to find the “lost souls” and bring the “crying children” home.
She would protect everyone and turn every last villain into a “yummy ghost cookie”!
But this isn’t a story about one child saving the world. It’s a story about a group of people searching for light in the darkness.
Even at just three and a half, Taotao would puff out her little chest, clap her hands, and say:
“Don’t be afraid, Taotao’s here!”
Looks good, come on, come on
