The Night I Saw a Ghost, I Awakened the Celestial Master's System

“At three in the morning, I stood outside the ‘Haunted Residential Compound,’ staring at my phone’s navigation and smoking a cigarette. The delivery note said, ‘Room 01, 23rd floor. Don’t ring the doorbell.’ But the elevator started oozing blood as soon as it reached the 18th floor. Five purplish-blue fingernails reached through the crack in the door and slashed right through my delivery bag.”

I’m Chen Yan, the fastest rider at Kuaima Delivery, and the unluckiest guy to run into a ghost tonight.

As the red-clad ghost strangled me and dragged me toward the fire stairs, a mechanical voice suddenly boomed in my head: “Exorcist System successfully bound. Host’s positive karma detected: 0.1. Current cultivation level: Yellow Talisman Realm. Starter pack issued: 5 Basic Evil-Repelling Talismans, Exorcist Compendium (Trial Version).”

The moment her fingernails pressed against my Adam’s apple, I pulled out a talisman and slapped it onto her forehead.

The ghost shrieked as half her face burned away. I caught my breath and tugged at my crumpled uniform. “Miss, you really should trim those nails. They hurt when they scratch my talismans.”

From that day on, my delivery bag held a cinnabar brush and a copper coin sword, while “exorcism missions” began appearing on my phone’s order page. There was the woman who jumped from a building steeped in resentment, the fingerless senior who played the piano in the school at midnight, and the infant spirit gnawing at the walls of a haunted house... I drew talismans while delivering milk tea, exposed the charlatan posing as a master on the street corner, and even got tangled up with the antique shop owner, a woman who could crush bones from the underworld in her bare hands. “Chen, want to work together? I have a lead on the Yin Fiend Sect”
