Loyalty to the Song Dynasty: the Flow Never Stops

This work is based on the grand background of the Song-Jin War from the late Northern Song Dynasty to the early Southern Song Dynasty. It outlines the ups and downs of the brothers Jiang Chuan and Jiang Liu in the turbulent times, and composes a tragic epic intertwined with the love and hatred of family and country and passionate ideals. The story begins in the sixth year of Zhenghe (1116), with the Jiang family brothers on the banks of the Bian River in Bianjing. The elder brother Jiangchuan is strong and resolute, while the younger brother Jiangliu is smart and thoughtful. Their father, Jiang Tao, was once a sergeant under the command of Xiang Gong, the king of Shao in the northwest. He participated in the war against Xixia during the Yuanfeng period. Later, due to injury, he was assigned to the Bianjing Forbidden Army Guards and the pro-horse army, Si Longwei Army, as the commander of the fourth army in the right wing. He held the position until he was officially registered. Due to his merits, he was granted a household registration and a house in Bianjing. He brought his family from Xinxiang County, Henan Prefecture to Bianjing. He has since taught his son that "rivers are surging, and men are loyal and brave." Influenced by his father Jiang Tao's court training of "serving the country with loyalty and courage," Jiang Chuan joined the Western Army in his early years and tempered his bones in the war with Xixia. In the seventh year of Xuanhe (1125), the Jin army went south to attack the Song Dynasty for the first time, approaching Bianjing. Jiang Chuan followed Li Gang to guard Bianliang. During the bloody battle at Suanzao Gate, in order to cover the evacuation of the people, he was shot by several arrows but still guarded the city gate. In the end, he died for his country at the age of twenty-nine. Before he died, he asked his comrades to bring his younger brother a blood-stained wooden plaque with the word "Jiangchuan" engraved on it.
