Story Synopsis
An ordinary beginning: Cheng Mo is an ordinary college student who works part-time at the library. Money is tight, but he still takes care of his sick mother, showing his devotion and resilience.
A changed world: A sudden global phenomenon known as the spiritual qi revival awakens supernatural abilities in some people, and social order begins to crumble. Amid the chaos, Cheng Mo rescues his classmate Lin Yuqing.
Awakening: In the middle of a crisis, Cheng Mo discovers that he has a rare “devouring” ability, which lets him absorb other people's energy and powers. But after using it for the first time, he falls unconscious.
A mysterious organization: When Cheng Mo wakes, he learns that he was rescued by Tianque, an organization made up of the first people to awaken. Its mission is to maintain balance and order in the new world.
Training his abilities: Cheng Mo trains at the organization's base, where he meets fellow members such as Qi Yan, who controls fire; Su Xiaorou, a healer; and Shi Gang, a defense expert. He begins to explore the limits of his powers.
A conspiracy emerges: Cheng Mo discovers divisions within the organization, while an outside enemy called Dark Abyss is hunting people with special abilities. His devouring power seems to be the key to what both sides are fighting over.
This section of the story mainly follows Cheng Mo's journey from an ordinary college student to discovering his special ability, as well as his first experiences after joining Tianque. It lays the groundwork for his future growth and the conflicts between the various factions.
