The day Mom left.
I saw Dad take a white pill bottle and lock himself in the little room.
I stood dumbly at the doorway.
Suddenly, a stream of comments flashed before my eyes.
[The sweetie still doesn't know that Dad is the evil villain. The female supporting character schemed to climb into the villain's bed for money, and that's how the sweetie was born.]
[The sweetie always thought the villain didn't love her, so she wanted to leave him and live with her grandparents.]
[His daughter, whom he treasured above all else, hated him. No wonder the villain had lost all hope and wanted to kill himself.]
[But the villain is actually a total doting dad. If the sweetie says the word, he'd gladly risk his life for her...]
I gathered my courage and knocked on Dad's door.
[Dad, my teddy bear dress is broken...]
Dad's voice came from inside: [If it's broken, just get another one. Don't we have lots at home?]
I lowered my head and spoke.
[But Mom gave it to me.]
A few minutes later, Dad opened the door and picked up a sewing kit.
[If it isn't broken, why don't you bring it over here?]
