World:
Across this vast realm, the human, demon, immortal, demon-realm, and ghost worlds coexist, yet wage war against one another. The "Seed of Chaos," sealed in ancient times, is about to awaken. The barriers between the five worlds are crumbling, and a catastrophe that will engulf all things is brewing.
Main Story:
Yue Qian is a half-demon boy hunted by two worlds. He bears the blood of a human sword immortal and a nine-tailed fox. His left eye can see through illusions, and an ancient sword soul is sealed in his right arm, yet his mixed-blood heritage makes him an outcast. In an accident, his demon eye runs wild and tears open space, freeing Xuan Ying, a young ghost messenger who has lost her memory. The chains around her bear forbidden runes tied to chaos.
While fleeing, Yue Qian and Xuan Ying meet:
Xiao Jin, a commander of the Infernal Prison who deserted the demon realm, wielding a red lotus of karmic fire that burns souls to ash;
Qing Lan, an immortal healer banished from the immortal realm for defying the laws of heaven, who commands the heaven-defying Thirteen Needles that trade one life for another;
Bai Cang, a romantic wanderer who gave up the throne of the demon emperor, a sonic assassin who wields poetry as a blade;
Tie Shanhe, a brilliant mechanist with disabled legs whose wheelchair conceals a deadly array of hidden mechanisms.
The six are forced to join forces to fight the chaos beasts. In their battles for life and death, their powers unexpectedly merge, unleashing crimson flames. Thus, the Crimson Flame Squad is born. But just as they think the danger has passed, wanted notices appear across all five worlds. The awakening of the God of Chaos, it turns out, has long been secretly set in motion by certain forces...
