Keeping My Head Down as a Cook in Cao Cao’s Army, I Become Wei’s Unusual Advisor

Zhao Yan transmigrated into the body of a cook responsible for Shu-Han’s provisions and had hoped to live a quiet life.

That was until a sickly scholar came to the kitchen to steal wine:

“Chef Zhao, do you think Xiapi will be hard to take?”

“Brother Zhao, is flooding Xiapi really a reliable plan?”

Later, the man simply showed up with a short, dark, stocky fellow to scrounge for a midnight snack.

“Chef Zhao, do you think Liu Bei is content to serve under someone else?”

“Brother Zhao, do you think there’s a weakness in the Yuan army’s camp?”

“Mr. Zhao, what do you think of Sima Yi?”

“With talent like yours, it would be a shame not to serve as a military strategist!”

As Zhao Yan chopped vegetables, he muttered, “I’m just a cook. Are you sure you’ve got the right person?”

The history books say Cao Cao declared, “I would rather betray the world than let the world betray me,” but they never mention how he followed a cook’s every word.
