My Cousin Faked Her Death and Made Me Raise Her Son. I Ruined Their Lives

Only after my cousin eloped with a scholar did she discover that he already had a family.

His wife stripped her in public. By the time my cousin came to me, disgraced and ruined, she was on her last legs.

Before she died, she sent her son to my home.

“Cousin, I won’t survive, but the child is innocent. Please, for the sake of our kinship, give him something to eat. One day, he’ll repay you by working like an ox or a horse.”

Heartbroken by what had happened to my cousin, I took the child in and raised him by my side.

My fiancé even broke off our engagement because of it.

Twenty years later, the young man I had carefully nurtured placed first in the imperial examinations.

On the day he entered the palace to give thanks, he pleaded for his mother’s wrongful conviction to be overturned before the entire court!

And my cousin, dead for many years, suddenly appeared, accusing me through tears of murdering her and imprisoning her son!

Dragged behind a horse, covered in blood, I saw my cousin looking down at me from inside a sedan chair.

“Cousin, thank you for raising my son so well. This is how I repay you!”

I was dragged to death.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day my cousin, consumed by shame, took her own life.
