I Tormented the Male Lead Until He Went Mad in an Old-School Romance Novel

I’m Looking for Some Old-School Novels, Thanks

I'm looking for older novels. Stories from back then had a special flavor, but I don't mean just any old novel. I want ones with sound values, sensible characters, coherent logic, and generally intelligent people. No old-fashioned, brainless melodrama with the heroine overcoming a disability, please. Thank you!
