Two strong leads find healing | Ensemble cast of a band | The ache of youth | Chasing dreams in the entertainment industry
What does it feel like to turn a life that’s gone completely to ruin into one that the whole world admires?
A sudden plum-rain season jolted Luo Yu out of the bleak first half of her life. With no family to turn to and her closest friend gone, she had been getting by on bar shifts and alcohol, until one umbrella brought her into Su Yunze’s world.
She’s a bass player, a weed struggling to grow amid the ruins. A hedgehog putting on a tough act, she unexpectedly runs into mint-scented tenderness.
He’s a top producer who clawed his way out of the gutter. Fierce and unflinching, he finds himself softening after meeting her.
But Luo Yu has no idea that the man who stole her umbrella had already written a thousand imagined reunions with her during all those years no one knew about.
“Su Yunze, you don’t have to awkwardly say you love me. I understand every ‘good morning’ you give me.”
“Luo Yu, when you said it was raining, the forty-seventh demo in my folder began to take the shape of an umbrella for two.”
When old friends reopen the scars of the past, and two bands stubbornly take shape through the muck, these broken young people tuck their sorrow into the strings of their instruments. In the end, it’s their passion that breaks through the damp grip of fate.
[Today, between the two bands, sits the world’s first trophy ever held in the arms of Asians.]
Never asleep, just dozing.
Between wakefulness and surrender, we will meet at last.
The growth of every vivid character need not be perfect all the time. When we let anything unexpected happen, and learn to love both our shining selves and our flaws, we all set out on the journey of self-love, and find other sources of warmth along the way.
Still great! So well written! Needless to say, it's awesome.
It has a sense of life, and I feel like I have a group of such good friends, especially the character prototypes.
