Ayako used the number of buttons on the custom-made cheongsam to convey information about the Kwantung Army's mobilization, and discovered that the consulate had used pages from "The Tale of Genji" to paste up the map of the secret room. She instigated a Kuomintang agent who was obsessed with her and hid a miniature camera in the bone of a sandalwood fan. However, while filming, she discovered that the wife of the French consul was smuggling opium with the Youth Gang. In the end, he strangled the section chief who was monitoring him with his kimono belt, and stuffed the bloody map film into the diplomatic bag sent by the consulate to Berlin.
