I lived on Heartless Island for eight years, waiting for Gu Wangyan for just as long.
After confessing his feelings to me, he left the island to go into business.
He swore that when he returned, he would marry me.
But on the day he came back, he brought a woman from the capital with him.
The very next day, he married her and made her the island mistress, while I became her maid.
He said, “I was only with you back then because you looked like Shu'er. Now that I've found Shu'er, she's the only one who can be the island mistress.”
Over those eight years, I had lost my innocence and been disfigured while helping him protect Heartless Island.
And in the end, I became a maid.
Heartbroken and disillusioned, I drank the potion that erases love.
