Romance of the Three Kingdoms: A Plain-Language Edition

Most people's understanding of the Three Kingdoms at the end of the Eastern Han dynasty comes from the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It portrays that turbulent period and recounts many stories that have been passed down through the ages and remain familiar to readers today, such as borrowing arrows with straw boats, the Battle of Red Cliffs, passing five checkpoints and slaying six generals, and riding alone for a thousand miles. It brings to life legendary figures such as the treacherous hero Cao Cao, the ambitious hero Liu Bei, the Martial Saint Guan Yu, the fierce general Zhang Fei, the courageous Zhao Yun, and Zhuge Liang, the very embodiment of wisdom. This version is written in modern vernacular and is especially suited to young readers and fans of historical fiction who aren't familiar with classical Chinese. I hope readers will enjoy it.
